Watershed Restaurant, Decatur, GA

Last night my mom took me out to dinner at Watershed, the Decatur restaurant owned by Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls, where, until recently, one of my culinary heroes, Scott Peacock, was the head chef. (Peacock resigned to work on documenting the food culture of his native south Alabama- a project which I'm also super excited about!) The new chef, Joe Truex, did some special things with mushrooms, bacon, goat cheese, and grits, and the grouper and okra that I had was awesome too.

And, of course, there was cake:

Thus launching the beginning of my birthday week.
Thanks, Mom! I love you!
